News - Lithuanian Olympiads in Informatics

18'th LIO. The finals of the Lithuanian Olympiad in Informatics took place in Daugai in March, 2007. 46 contestants participated there. 23 best contestants were awarded diplomas and honorable mentions. 6 best contestants were invited to represent Lithuanian team in Baltic Olympiad in Informatics in Germany.

IOI'1998-1999 medalist Remigijus Staniulis was invited to attend national finals and give a lecture on the prespectives on study and work in IT field,

17'th LIO. The finals of the 17'th Lithuanian Olympiad in Informatics took place on 5'th-8'th of April, 2006 in Švenčionys. 45 contestant had to solve six algorithmic problems during two competition days. Contestants participated in five divisions, according to their grades. However, there were only two sets of problems - one set for two divisions and another set for the other three divisions. 27 best competitors were awarded I'st, II'nd and III'rd degree diplomas and the honorable mentions.

Motiejus Jakštys got a honorable mention in this Olympiad.

16'th LIO. The finals of the 16'th Lithuanian Olympiad in Informatics took place on 6'th-9'th of April, 2005 in Umerge. 45 contestant had to solve six algorithmic problems during two competition days. Contestants participated in five divisions, made according to their grades. 20 best competitors were awarded I'st, II'nd and III'rd degree diplomas.

Summer Academy. The first Summer Academy for high school students took place in 2004 summer in Nida, one of the most beautiful sea-resorts in Lithuania.

50 winners of various Olympiads and competitions in the fields of Mathematics, Informatics, Chemistry, Economy and Linguistics, were invited to take part in two week event. Nine of them are winners of Lithuanian Olympiad in Informatics.

Professors and other qualified lecturers from several universities and scientific institutes gave lectures. Among them - professor Agnis Andžans from Latvija, professor Valdas Laurinavičius, the Director of the Insttute of Biochemistry in Lithuania. 15'th LIO. The finals of the 15'th Lithuanian Olympiad in Informatics took place on 24'th-27'th of March, 2004 in Visaginas. 51 contestant had to solve five algorithmic problems during two competition days. Contestants participated in five divisions, made according to their grades. 20 best competitors were awarded I'st, II'nd and III'rd degree diplomas.
